The Shadow's Endorsements for the U.S. General Election

The Shadow is now ready to give his endorsement in the U.S. Presidential race.  The video below contains The Shadow's endorsement along with some key issues in California and San Francisco.



The Shadow's full endorsements are below:

For President of the United States:  Barak Obama
For Vice President of the United States:  Joseph Biden

California Propositions

The Shadow urges all Californians to approve the following issues:
  • Issue 1 -- High Speed Rail Bond
  • Issue 3 -- Children's Hospital Bond Act
  • Issue 10 -- Alternative Fuel Vehicle and Renewable Energy Bond Issue
  • Issue 11 -- Redistricting of General Assembly districts
  • Issue 12 -- Veterans' Bond Act of 2008
Likewise, The Shadow urges all Californians to defeat the following issues:
  • Issue 2 -- Standards for Confining Farm Animals
  • Issue 4 -- Parential Notification and Waiting Period before Minor's Abortion
  • Issue 5 -- Nonviolent Drug Offenses, Sentencing, Parole and Rehabilitation
  • Issue 6 -- Police and Law Enforcement Funding
  • Issue 7 -- Renewable Energy Generation
  • Issue 8 -- Eliminates the Right of Same-Sex Couples to Marry in California
  • Issue 9 -- Criminal Justice System, Victims' Rights and Parole of Offenders
San Francisco Propositions

The Shadow urges all San Francisco residents to approve the following issues:
  • Proposition A -- San Francisco General Hospital Bond
  • Proposition C -- Prohibits city employees from serving on Charter Boards and Commissions
  • Proposition D -- Pier 70 Financing
  • Proposition F -- Moving all city elections to even-numbered years
  • Proposition J -- Creating a Historic Preservation Commission
  • Proposition N -- Changing Real Property Transfer Tax Rates
  • Proposition O -- Access Line Tax and Telephone Users Tax Revision
  • Proposition S -- Budget Set-Asides and Identification of Replacement Funds
  • Proposition U -- Policy Against Funding the Deployment of Armed Forces in Iraq
  • Proposition V -- Policy Against terminating JROTC in the San Francisco Public Schools
Likewise, The Shadow urges the defeat of the following issues:
  • Proposition B -- Establishing an Affordable Housing Fund
  • Proposition E -- Changing the Number of Signatures Required to Recall a City Official
  • Proposition G -- Allowing Retirement System Credit for Unpaid Parential Leave
  • Proposition H -- Changing Revenue Bond Authority to Pay for Public Utility Facilities
  • Proposition I -- Creating the Office of an Independent Rate Payer Advocate
  • Proposition K -- Decriminalizes Prostitution in San Francisco
  • Proposition L -- Funding the Community Justice Center
  • Proposition M -- Residential Rent Ordinance Revisions
  • Proposition P -- Changes the composition of the San Francisco County Transportation Authority Board
  • Proposition Q -- Modifying the Payroll Expense Tax
  • Proposition R -- Renaming the Oceanside Water Treatment Plant by Adding the Name of George W. Bush to it
