A New Era Begins in the United States

At 12:05 p.m. Eastern Time today, Barak Obama, the former junior senator from Illinois, took the oath of office to become the 44th President of the United States.

To say the least, this was quite a historic day in the United States.  President Obama is the first African-American to hold the office of president.  And he is ready to get started right away and will first thing Wednesday morning.

The Shadow wishes to congratulate President Obama and wishes him well as he begins the difficult task of putting America back together.

For those who may have missed it, here is the video of President Obama taking the oath of office and his first speech as president.

Good night and good luck.

Goodbye George W. Bush

We are now 14 hours away from the inauguration of Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States.

So The Shadow saw it fitting to give a final goodbye to the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush.

Say what you want about this man -- and we are sure most of you will -- but we will saying nothing more about George Bush.  He is obviously the worst president to ever occupy the office so The Shadow will not waste any more time or space to him.

In closing, we would like to give you a popular feature on "The Late Show with David Letterman" entitled "Great Moments in Presidential Speeches".  This is the final installment of this feature and, if you have never seen it before, you will understand why after seeing it.

So good bye George Bush -- we will not miss you!

Good Night and Good Luck.
