BREAKING NEWS: Mehserle Verdict Read
Johannes Mehserle, a former police officer for the Bay Area Rapid Transit, has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter by a jury this afternoon. The verdict was announced at 4:07 p.m.
The Shadow is again appealing for calm in the wake of this verdict. We have been informed that there will be a gathering in Oakland beginning at 6 p.m. tonight. We would urge a peaceful protest.
